Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide additional academic support to students undertaking their first year of diploma studies, within the UniSA College. The course will provide a platform for the students to access resources to assist their introduction to university study in their first year of the diploma and build a supportive network with peers in the diploma cohort and with the Diploma Program Director.

Course content

The course will provide a scaffolded approach to support resources and development of academic skills across the first year of the diploma. This includes addressing the topics of health and well-being, academic skills, accessing services at SEU, careers and linking the students with the School they will transition into in the second year and Uni mentors. The students will pre-dominantly be supported via the Learn-online site, with some compulsory face-to-face workshops scheduled across the year. Compulsory workshops will be explained in detail in the Course Outline and on the Learn Online site.
