To develop students as pre-service teachers who are able to use their knowledge of how children learn mathematics and science in the primary years of schooling to plan and assess learning that is integrated and caters for diversity in the classroom.
Students will examine primary students’ construction of mathematical and scientific understanding, processes, and attitudes in an integrated way. Students will develop and refine integrated units of work, incorporating the use of digital technologies, catering for individual needs in science and mathematics classes based on the Australian curriculum for Mathematics and Science including the general capabilities. Students will critique assessment strategies, with an emphasis on summative assessment.
