Course aim

To provide students with theoretical, contemporary, historical and practical knowledge of the role and impact of business management traditions and systems across the Asian Community on management decision making, business strategy, and business conduct in the international business context. The course explores socio-economic, political, cultural, institutional, and strategic management perspectives of management systems in the Asian Community in Asia. In doing so, the course provides an in-depth understanding of how business enterprises in the region operate and the business strategies required to effectively work with Asian partners.

Course content

Comparative analyses of business/management systems across Asian community; cross-cultural management in doing business across Asian community; macro/micro business environment in diverse Asian countries; opportunities and challenges in doing business across Asian community; globalisation of Asian firms; Australia’s engagement with contemporary Asia.
