To develop students' professional approaches to the management of learning environments and learner behaviour and to establish relationships between effective management approaches and the teaching and learning process to promote productive learner behaviours.
The students will develop critical knowledge of the approaches to management which promote engaging learning environments. This includes the development of principles and practices which underpin effective management of learning environment ecologies. Key teacher skills for successful management of such complex environments are emphasised. A variety of available approaches are drawn on to promote learner engagement and participation and to promote student wellbeing. Approaches, skills and strategies for handling unproductive student behaviour are also examined.
