To consolidate student understanding of the different critical approaches that are involved in researching and analysing screen authorship.
Authorship will be studied in relation to film and media history, shifting industrial frameworks, competing and converging cross-media forms, fan studies and questions of identify.
The course will examine how authorship can be used to approach the figure of the director, the screenwriter, the star, the past and present of the Hollywood industry, television, digital streaming, audiences and fans.
