Course aim

To introduce students to global politics and development studies and to develop skills in critical analysis.

Course content

Introduction to global politics, development and global political economy; human rights and human security in global politics; Australia’s overseas aid program; Australia’s relationship with other countries in Asia; awareness of ethnic and cultural diversity for journalists; inequality and development; formal and informal politics in Australia.
