Course aim

Students will learn how observation, reference and awareness of light support the emotional impact and believability of the screen image. Through lectures, class assignments and weekly projects, each topic within the course will be explored as it applies to the production process.

Course content

Students will undertake a series of intermediate level production projects that will emulate the processes of a professional production schedule. Focus will be on technical skills and aesthetic evaluation so that images not only “look right” but can also be rendered efficiently. Students will develop their lighting, compositing and technical knowledge to produce a high quality, finished product for their portfolios.
