To introduce students to the film and television industry as both a business and creative enterprise in a nationally and internationally competitive market.
Through a survey of the screen industry and its various sectors such as financing, production and distribution, students will become familiar with the commercially-driven nature of film and television content production. Industry-based lectures, workshops and exercises ranging from the role of the creative producer; idea generation; pitching and financing through to sales and distribution; budgeting; pre-production, production, post-production and marketing will introduce students to the key concepts, skills and practices required to operate professionally and creatively in the production of high quality screen content for local and global screen industries.
