Course aim

To provide students with an opportunity to learn about legal research methods, academic literature reviews and research project proposal preparation. This course has also been designed to extend and further develop students’ interest and skills in preparing a legal research dissertation.

Course content

This course will extend students’ understanding of and experience in the following areas:
(1) Legal research methods;
(2) Elements of academic legal research, including literature reviews;
(3) Distilling a legal problem into research questions;
(4) Legal research project planning;
(5) Research Codes of Conduct and Ethics.
