To advance student understanding of film aesthetics as it intersects with Hollywood techniques of storytelling and the demands of commercial entertainment.
Students will examine film as an entertainment product, connecting it to earlier histories, forms and aesthetics of popular entertainment. In the practical components of the course students will draw on the key structures and devices of these traditions to produce works of audio-visual entertainment.

Completion of all required second year courses from the Bachelor of Media Arts or the Bachelor of Film and Television; Bachelor of Creative Industries (Film and Television major); or by approval from the Program Director.
