This course introduces the student to the theory of differential and integral calculus of real- and vector-valued functions of more than one real variable. The theoretical development is supported by examples and applications from the physical world, including a wide range of application areas such as engineering, fluid mechanics, electromagnetism and other areas of physics.
Functions of two and three variables, partial derivatives, gradient, divergence, curl, chain rule, optimisation with and without constraints, double and triple integrals, change of variables of integration, the Jacobian, line integrals, surface integrals, and the theorems of Green, Gauss, and Stokes.
