To provide students with knowledge and experience of pedagogical approaches, curriculum content and practices in the areas of Health, Physical Education and the Arts (Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music, Visual Arts) relevant for young learners and to actively and critically study the Arts and HPE and their application as curriculum content within educational environments.
Students will engage with a cross-disciplinary approach to learning through Health, Physical Education and the Arts (Dance, Drama, Media Arts, Music and Visual Arts). Students will audit their existing knowledge, skills, and understanding in Health, Physical Education and the Arts in relation to curriculum frameworks and professional standards (e.g. ACECQA and AITSL). Through creative, active and play-based pedagogies students will learn about a range of subject specific pedagogies in order to plan for progression and assessment.
