Course aim

To provide foundational knowledge and skills in Information Technology including computer architectures, operating systems, the web, cloud, and data analytics.

Course content

In this course students will gain skills and knowledge in the following areas: introduction to computers including history; computer hardware (CPU, memory, storage); operating systems; software applications; network introduction; introduction to data storage and databases; data science foundations (big data, data wrangling, AI and machine learning); cloud foundations; ethics as an IT professional; future technologies.
