Course aim

To introduce students to the university learning environment and to develop a range of discipline specific academic literacies, critical thinking, and research skills to support further undergraduate study.

Course content

This course will provide an introduction to the university learning environment, as well as fostering skills in database searching and locating academic references; referencing and academic integrity; critical literacy and the evaluation of scholarly literature; reading and noting effectively; and writing and editing for varied academic purposes.
