To provide students with the opportunity to apply expert, specialised cognitive and technical skills in a body of knowledge to compile and assess construction claims and avoid and resolve disputes through various dispute avoidance procedures and dispute resolution methods.
Introduction to dispute management and claims. Latent Conditions. Defective building works. Contract security. Contract termination and Insolvency. Dispute resolution clauses in standard forms of construction contract. Construction litigation and arbitration. Alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation and expert determination. Statutory construction adjudication. Dispute avoidance procedures.
