Course aim

The course aims to give students knowledge of and practical experience with advanced mathematical and/or statistical theories and techniques arising in one or more of the following areas: applied mathematics, pure mathematics, statistics, and optimisation. During their studies, the students will be given an opportunity to apply this knowledge to solve practical problems. The course also aims to prepare high achieving students for research.

Course content

The topics covered in this course may include a selection of topics from Simulation Theory and Application, Advanced Complex Analysis, Nonlinear Programming, Discrete Optimisation, Applied Functional Analysis, and Advanced Topics in Applied Statistics.
