Course aim

To provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to procure, set up and manage all resources and services necessary for the efficient and safe operation of a construction site. To ensure that students are able to critique and evaluate work health and safety principles, procedures and regulations applicable to construction sites.

Course content

Site establishment, preparation and protection; Site organisation and management (personnel, workforce management, site accommodation and amenities, materials coordination, managing plant and equipment, storage and circulation, attendance to trades); Legislative and regulatory requirements including work health and safety legislation; Codes of practice for safe working in the construction industry; Safety inductions and safe work method statements; Hazard and risk identification; Health and safety risk assessment, review and control measures; Personnel protection; Compliance procedures and processes.
