UniSA Education Futures
To critically review the tools and techniques of learning analytics, and design a learning analytics approach for an educational setting.
Students will develop a critical understanding of the purpose and application of a range of learning analytics concepts, tools and techniques, including: predictive analytics and data dashboards; social network analysis; video analytics; text analysis, including natural language processing; temporal and sequential data capture and use. In addition, students will develop an appreciation of the ethical dimensions of learning analytics and will be able to synthesise their knowledge of learning analytics to address learning process issues such as self-regulated learning. Further, students will consider the needs of different stakeholders and the challenges associated with learning analytics implementation.
