To expand pedagogic knowledge of and experience in digital learning environments focusing on connectivity, communication, collaboration and convergence through the use of digital technologies.
Students will review the information revolution, global connectedness and trends in technology; course design for digital learning; principles of learning through connectivity, communication, collaboration and convergence; the digital divide and globalization of lifelong learning; creative cultures including gaming and maker-spaces; education informatics; re-imagining the experience of learning and teaching in a digital age; future of education and educational technologies; introduction to technologies; evaluating technologies; digital literacy; managing copyright, digital rights and licensing for resources and services.
