Course aim

This course focuses on the history, development and operation of contemporary airport facilities. Special emphasis is placed on contemporary airport standards as these apply to airport design and master plan requirements, environmental obligations, coordination with various airport stakeholders and airport operations.

Course content

Airports and airport systems; Airport planning; The economic, political and social role of airports; Airport financial management; Airport security; The airfield; Airspace and air traffic management; Airport terminals and ground access; Airport capacity and delay; Congestion, slots, and price.
