Course aim

Provide a platform of human anatomy knowledge for students wishing to continue study in fields associated with health sciences or allied health (nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry, and occupational therapy, medical radiation, laboratory medicine, or human movement).

Introduce students to:

  • Anatomical terminology 
  • Orientation and structure of the neuromuscular and skeletal systems of the human body 
  • Identification of anatomical landmarks and structures

Expose students to the learning styles and assessment types associated with anatomy at a university level.

Course content

Anatomical terminology, human body organisation, body tissues, joints, identification of structures of the neuromuscular and skeletal system, surface anatomy.
