To provide students with advanced skills in journalistic writing and research across a range of media forms; and to develop advanced knowledge of journalistic writing and research.
This course will introduce students to writing in the context of professional journalism practice for a diverse range of audiences via print, broadcast and online media. Students will learn to apply journalism to digital media and acquire the conceptual and practical tools required to understand the rapid changes taking place in the field. Topics include: news writing; multimedia storytelling; social media; blogging; photojournalism for non-photojournalists; data analytics; repurposing material across different media interfaces, including streaming audio, video and sourcing images.
