Course aim

Carry out cross country flight and aircraft handling to a commercial pilot standard and be recommended for the CASA commercial pilot flight test.

Course content

Flight planning, performance and preparation; departure  and entry procedures controlled and in controlled aerodromes; diversions and simulated in-flight emergencies; flight of more than 300 NM incorporating two away landings; flight outside and within controlled airspace; en route navigation under visual and instrument flight rules (VFR & IFR).

AERO 5008 Cross Country 2

Students must hold a Class II Medical with at least 6 months validity. Students must also hold a Class I Medical that is valid for the entire duration of the course study period they are enrolling in as it is a requirement of the CPL Test. Students must remain compliant with the Aviation Academy's Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP). Students must have passed all 7 CASA CPL Theory Exams. Students must hold a valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Teaching method

Practical (Students are assigned an instructor for the duration of the course who will work with each student individually to plan and book flight lessons) 9 Weeks x 1 flight per week

Assessment

Practical flight test confirming student is operating to commercial pilot standard and can be recommended for the CASA CPL flight test.

Note: This is a non-graded course and your result will be a pass or fail.
