UniSA Justice & Society
To advance students’ knowledge of the Australian context of social work and the human services sector and to assist in the integration of social work theories, skills, values and ethics as applied to social work practice in Australian settings, including working with Aboriginal Peoples.
The students will develop specific social work knowledge about the Australian context of social work, an overview of the human services sector and an understanding of the culture of Australian welfare practices. Students will develop selected professional social work skills including report writing skills and case notes and develop their abilities to be able to articulate the purpose of social work and apply relevant social work theories to practice issues in the Australian context, including issues that affect Aboriginal Peoples.
