To develop an understanding the pathophysiology of selected disorders and the modification of these processes through manipulation of pharmacological pathways. 
The pathophysiology and pharmacology relevant to central nervous system disorders including; depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, insomnia, seizure disorders, Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease, ADHD, emesis and migraine.
The pharmacology relating to substances of abuse including drugs for alcohol and nicotine dependence.
The pathophysiology and pharmacology relevant to endocrine disorders including; diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, osteoporosis, and male and female reproductive systems (including fertility).
