Course aim

To develop and apply knowledge of basic and advanced clinical skills for observing, assessing, communicating with and intervening with clients.

Course content

Students will develop knowledge of the principles of psychotherapy and will build basic counselling skills, including interviewing skills, micro skills, and ethical considerations (informed consent and confidentiality). Students develop skills and knowledge based on a scientist-practitioner model emphasising the use of evidence-based skills and interventions.
