UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance
To enable the evaluation of quality and validity of health data, and to highlight the importance of appropriate use and handling of data when answering research questions relevant for public health.
The course will introduce the students to various types of health data, including an introduction to publicly available data resources. There will be a strong focus in developing practical skills required to acquire and manage data, which will be undertaken using an appropriate software package. The course will cover ethical, legal and political issues related to the use of health data (including those from indigenous populations), and evaluate the strengths and limitations of various types of data.
