Course aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with an advanced understanding of the influence of legal, social, and intra-organisational factors which impact upon workplace health and safety within an organisation as well as contemporary approaches to workplace health and safety system management. Upon completion of this course students will be able to identify, critically analyse and research these influences in order to make suitable recommendations for the management of workplace health and safety.

Course content

Best practice in workplace health and safety, workplace health and safety legislative requirements for the workplace, the role of workers in workplace health and safety, managing risk, social and emerging issues in work health and safety, systematic management of worker health and safety, injury management.
