To introduce students to the practice of quantity surveying, standard methods of measurement, and measurement of domestic and small commercial buildings.

Course content

Introduction to the principles and practice of Quantity Surveying; Introduction to bill of quantities; Principles of measurement for building works; Use of Mensuration in Quantities; Measurement and Billing Process for Earthworks, Concrete in Strip Footings, Brickwork, Internal Finishes, Joinery and Roof Coverings .
