Course aim

To provide an overview of the specifications for, and performance of, precision surveys using a range of technologies and surveying techniques.

Course content

Review of ICSM survey control guidelines. Legal metrology and traceability of measurements. Precision engineering networks and control survey design. Deformation measurement and monitoring. Inertial surveying systems. Optical and laser alignment. Industrial surveys, measurement techniques and case studies. Laser scanners and applications of 3D measurement systems.
