Complete the instrument flight rules, navigation with 2D approaches and simulator lessons and be recommended for progress into Instrument Rating 2

Course content

Instrument flight rule procedures conducted in the simulator including holding patterns, precision and non precision approaches, as well as in practical flying.

Students must hold a minimum of a Class II Medical with at least 6 months validity. Students must remain compliant with the Aviation Academy's Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP). Students are strongly advised to hold a commercial pilot licence prior to enrolling in this course. Although it is not a pre-requisite, students are encouraged to hold a credit in the CASA aeronautical knowledge examination for the instrument rating before enrolling in this course.

Practical (Students are assigned an instructor for the duration of the course who will work with each student individually to plan and book flight lessons.)	16 weeks x 1-2 lessons per week

Practical flight assessment conducted in a single engine aircraft. IFR Navigation with 2D approaches
