Course aim

To be recommended for the Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) flight test.

Course content

Low speed aircraft handling; cross wind operations; advanced stalling; instrument flying; forced landing without power; maximum performance operations.

Students must hold a minimum of a Class II Medical with at least 6 months validity. Students must remain compliant with the Aviation Academy's Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP).

Teaching method

Component	Duration
INTERNAL, MAWSON LAKES
Practical (Students are assigned an instructor for the duration of the course who will work with each student individually to plan and book flight lessons.)	10 weeks x 1-2 flights per week
Tutorial (Each new flight topic is preceded by a pre-flight briefing delivered to all course participants.)	10 weeks x 1-2 times per week
Directed Study (Students will be provided access to the learn online site to assist with preparation for the basic aeronautical test.)	10 weeks x 2 hours per week
