Course aim

To provide students with an opportunity to write a legal thesis - a sustained research project involving the examination of a specific research question, which makes an original or innovative contribution to the existing literature.

Course content

This course is structured around the individual research questions chosen by the students in Honours 2: Academic Writing and Research. Accordingly, the content is necessarily variable between students and cohorts.
Specific areas of consideration will primarily be determined by a student’s thesis supervisor (determined by the Honours Coordinator in Study Period 4), who will work with their student on a one-on-one basis, meeting on a regular basis. Meetings, when they do not take place each week, will be supplemented by weekly email communication between student and supervisor.  Students will undertake an oral presentation of their thesis proposal to which all law school academic staff are invited.
