Course aim

To provide students with the theoretical foundations, knowledge and skills to support the development of digital literacy capabilities in their clients in a variety of contexts.

Course content

Introduction to theoretical framework and research methodologies underpinning digital literacy. Students will be exposed to findings on studies on digital literacy which are used to improve services, resources and training in relation to digital literacy. Application and practice of digital literacy in library and information settings which includes teaching children and adults, instructional design, copyright and plagiarism, effective presentations, teaching with technology, user experience and user-centred design, lifelong learning, future trends in digital literacy.
