To provide students with practical experience in applying their discipline knowledge and skills, and to reflect deeply on the relevance and applicability of previous studies in their program to professional practice.
Students will apply advanced skills to critically analyse the practical application of discipline-specific knowledge and skills in modern organisations, prepare for transition to employment, and consolidate their preparation for lifelong learning. Students will undertake an internship, placement or project and will be guided through a deep reflection of these experiences in relation to their studies throughout the program. Students with a Grade Point Average of Credit and above (GPA > 5.0) will be given the option to undertake an internship in an industry position appropriate to their professional major, for a minimum of 10 days. Those students who choose not to complete an internship, and the students with a Grade Point Average below credit level (GPA< 5.0), will undertake an industry-based project either as an individual, as a member of a team from their discipline, or in a multidisciplinary team. Students will critique professional practice in terms of their theoretical knowledge and analyse the organisation and their role within, or in support of it.
