Course aim

To introduce students to the essential skills in news gathering across all media platforms.

Course content

Students will be introduced to basic news gathering techniques for multimedia platforms including print, broadcast, online and social media. Students will become familiar with different modes of inquiry, with an emphasis on the practice, principles and theory behind effective interviewing. They will develop skills appropriate for news gathering for convergent as well as traditional news media, under deadline pressure.
