Course aim

To introduce students to the essential skills in news writing across all media platforms.

Course content

Students will be introduced to basic news writing for multimedia platforms including print, broadcast, online and social media. Students will become familiar with different writing and presentation styles associate with convergent journalisms. They will develop skills to write under deadline pressure and to differentiate 'hard' and 'soft' news writing.
