To introduce students to the principles and practices of news and social media production focussing on the specialised skills related to professional practice and industry-standard technologies.
Students will explore the ever-changing trends of news production from newspapers to the online multi-platform environment incorporating print, broadcast and social media technologies. Students will be introduced to the use of digital media through industry-standard software and programs to facilitate the development of requisite skills. Students will be able to produce digital media and materials to provide accurate and reliable information to its audience.
