To enable students to critically theorise and develop practical applications in cultural competency from an Indigenous perspective.
Students will extend their knowledge of Australian Indigenous culture and knowledges and its relation to issues in race, ethnicity, migration and identity politics. The students will critically analyse Australia as a nation of diversity through an understanding of theories in whiteness studies and anti-racism. The students will apply principles of culturally competency through the development of a training package in cultural competency incorporating theories in race, ethnicity, migration, whiteness studies and anti-racism.
