To advance preservice teachers' skills, knowledge and professional expertise associated with teaching and learning in Advanced Manufacturing in Secondary school settings.
Preservice teachers will build on their knowledge and production skills when designing, producing, and evaluating advanced man-made solutions for a range of specialised technological contexts. Preservice teachers will develop a deeper understanding of the ways in which materials, systems and equipment interrelate and can be combined to create solutions to problems and to identify new opportunities for innovation. Preservice teachers will identify and build upon strong links with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) and build on their knowledge of contemporary manufacturing technologies. Preservice teachers will engage in projects using CAD/CAM, Autodesk Fusion360, SolidWorks, SketchUp, laser cutting, Adobe software, 3D design and printing, vinyl cutting, among others.
