Course aim

To consolidate students' understanding of, and capacity to, both analyse and create different forms of representation when writing and producing texts through the critical concepts of literary theory

Course content

Students will study the way writers, as close observers of social and cultural contexts, creatively and critically work the nexus between the lived and the imaginary, in order to represent the world in fiction and nonfiction.  As readers and writers, students will engage critically and creatively with the works of authors from across the ages and across the globe to explore how this process has been expressed in various literary forms and how they may contribute creatively through various forms of their own writing.
