To extend students’ abilities to apply relevant theories and historical narratives in critical analyses of the transformative interdependence relationships in Europe and Asia, compare and contrast regional integration between Europe and Asia, and to ascertain whether globalisation is consistent with regional integration.
Students will develop advanced knowledge of theoretical approaches to inter-regional cooperation and economic and political integration; histories of East and West conquest; the origins of European integration; and the relevance of European integration initiatives for other regions.
