The course aims to enhance student’s professional capabilities by fostering advanced student analyses of the main factors shaping emerging patterns in global power relations and their consequences on the Asian region and world order.
Students will learn about theories of global power, power shifts, interdependence and deterrence while investigating the structure and the nature of world order and global governance. Students will be able to apply these theories in order to investigate the global consequences of the rise of Asia, the challenges to US global primacy, and the interaction between global superpowers, great powers and middle powers.
