Course aim

Define the concept of transportation modelling using the four-step modelling approach. Then relate theories and procedures in the application of transport demand forecasting.

Course content

The transport planning and analysis process. Transport database assembly. Zoning and network coding. The four-step process. Hierarchy of transport models. Synthesis of travel demand matrices. Micro simulation and macro simulation models.
