Course aim

To study the influences on typical human growth and development with particular emphasis on emerging motor and social behaviours and their assessments.

Course content

Models of lifelong human development; developmentalist terminology; transactional model of motor development; physical growth and physiological changes across the five primary periods of the lifespan; influences on pre- and post-natal growth and motor development; emergence, peaking and regression of motor behaviour across the lifespan; visual perceptual, social and cognitive development and its influence across the lifespan; unique potential of each individual; cultural influences on an individuals' experience of lifespan growth and development.
