Course aim

This course gives students the opportunity to explore employment opportunities in their chosen field of study. The course will assist students in developing skills in professional writing and communication (including job applications and curriculum vitae), networking and negotiation as well as develop a professional identity. Investigation of online and social networking possibilities for employment will also be considered.

Course content

Topics to be covered in this course: self-assessment, career planning, know your profession, professional communication, job search skills, networking, negotiation, interview skills, linking graduate qualities to employability skills, social networking and the workplace.
