Course aim

By the end of this course students will have knowledge of what constitutes Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), and how they can be implemented and evaluated in order to achieve a safer, more efficient and environmentally sustainable transport system.

Course content

This course delivers the practical underpinning of Intelligent Transport Systems and shows how they can be applied using case studies. These case studies include, Advanced Driver Information Systems, Advanced Public Transport Systems, ITS and Safety, ITS and the Environment and ITS in the freight industry. The course will also give students an understanding of ITS architecture, interoperability, planning and evaluation.
