The course provides students with an understanding of the current theory, processes and practice of strategic staffing, recruitment and selection in organisations, equipping them with a working knowledge of the staffing literature and providing opportunities to develop and practice relevant recruitment and selection skills.
This course will critically examine the social, legal, and administrative issues associated with the recruitment, selection and induction of individuals by organisations. Students will gain knowledge and skills in workforce planning, job analysis, channels and methods of recruitment, resume analysis, shortlisting, selection processes and onboarding practices. Theory, research, and organisational practices will be considered through the use of readings, lectures, tutorial discussions, cases and experiential exercises.
