To further develop preservice teachers' understanding and practical methods to inform decision making in planning, teaching, resource selection, adaptation and design, and assessing English as an Additional Language (EAL).
Preservice teachers will further develop their understanding of the features of TESOL settings, the factors affecting TESOL and the teacher agency in TESOL. They will also develop practical methods of teaching EAL/D including the implementation of the communicative approach, explicit teaching of grammar through different genres and connections with other areas of learning. Preservice teachers will learn to evaluate, select and adapt language learning activities, resources and assessment practices to help create lesson plans and units of work.
