Students will explore how nurses can influence the promotion of healthy lifestyles for older people.
Nursing role in promoting healthy lifestyles for older people; social theories of ageing; age friendly environments and landscapes and the built environment; physical activity and older people; nursing role in promoting healthy and active lifestyles; role of nutrition in healthy and active ageing; personal, structural and social factors influencing lifestyle choices; issues and factors influencing workforce participation by older people; designing flexible age friendly work environments; international and national policy perspectives on ageing; role and innovative use of technology and social media in facilitating active and productive ageing; re-ablement.
